This project in Shenfield was a partial re-design of the rear garden of a beautiful period property, formerly the home of the current owner’s parents. A sensitive approach to the holistic integration of some existing garden areas and features within the new design was called for and design constraints included the retention of plants that were of sentimental value, which populated the site.
Keen plants people, sketch proposals included swathes of planting and various options for both formal and informal water features. A requirement to entertain significant numbers of people within the rear garden drove the final design layout, with curvaceous lawn areas and a stunning triple water feature as the focal point, both from within the house and within the garden. With a fish pond to the garden side, header pond and letter box style spillway facing towards the house, both the look and the sound of the water adds a special dimension to this now-maturing garden.
Size: 500 - 1,000 m2
Budget: £25K - 50K including hard landscape, triple water feature, lawn and planting
"The water feature has the wow factor we were looking for, thank you so much for all your hard work – we are really looking forward to enjoying our new garden."
