With a tired landscape that didn’t quite work, the client brief included a significant sized terrace for entertaining family and friends, a water feature to be viewed from the sitting room doors, and planting for scent and colour. Wildlife, especially birds were also important and strategic existing planting was to be retained for shelter, nesting and perching.
With a large feature dining circle and an in-ground water feature with water-bowl and pouring scupper, the finished garden is a blaze of colour in from May through to October, with Spring bulbs and Autumn colour providing early and late interest.
Lighting, curved stone seat and western red cedar fence cladding completes the scheme which we keep looking tip-top through a comprehensive maintenance programme.
Budget: £25 – 50K, including all paving, steps with bull nosed edging, water feature, planting, lighting and fencing.
